This week's blog is gonna be another short one because my health is less than optimal today. I just wanted to briefly talk about the books I'm reading. As I mentioned in last week's blog, I have a very ambitious goal of 50 books for this year. So I have buckling down and reading books I know I will absorb at lightspeed. Since I want to eventually make graphic novels, most of these books are manga (for inspiration and fun!) and when I did this challenge last year, I decided that since manga and graphic novels tend to be less reading and smaller than prose novels, I would count one as a half a book. So, for example, when I reached my goal last year I had read over 60 manga and comic books.
It's loads of fun reading these mangas. So far I have been addicted to a few series, most of which I found while perusing a book store with my friend. The two main series I am reading are "Waiting for Spring" (Harumatsu Bokura) and "A Sign of Affection" (Yubisaki to Renren) both really good series and I love both. "A Sign of Affection" is also really beautiful because the main character is deaf and the way the author and the artist showcase how she sees the world is so fascinating. It's especially interesting to me, since I spent many years in a sign language immersion school during my grade school years.
If you are interested in manga I would definitely recommend you check them out! But until next time, my jellybeans, I will see you all next week. Stay happy, healthy and safe!
